Man stabs wife 20 times while she was taking a shower

A 63 year old man approached his 56 year old wife who was taking a shower in the bathroom and started stabbing her. Police say he stabbed her at least 20 times before she managed to fight him off and escape from the house naked in Monterey Park on Thursday at about 8:20pm, authorities said.
Neighbours who saw her naked and bleeding called the police. Responding officers found her on the street and followed a trail of blood back to the victim's house.

The husband, later identified as 63-year-old Kam Hing Wong, was found outside the home and was arrested, by the Police..

He was booked for attempted murder and domestic violence without bail.

Fortunately, despite multiple stab wounds, the victim's wounds were non-life threatening and she is expected to survive.
Police didn't say what caused the domestic dispute and attempted murer.

The United Nations is currently investigating up to 108 sexual abuse cases allegedly perpetrated by international peacekeepers in Central African Republic (CAR) with the vast majority of victims being under-age girls.

A report by a US-based advocacy group said three girls in CAR told UN staff they were tied up and forced to have s*x with a dog by a French military commander in 2014.

UN spokesman, Stephane Dujarric on Thursday, called the allegations “shocking to the core” and promised “exemplary disciplinary action” if they’re proven true.

France’s UN Ambassador, Francois Delattre called the allegations “sickening and odious”.

The accusations, dating from 2013 through last year, were first announced by the group AIDS-Free World late on Wednesday.

Dujarric told reporters the UN can’t confirm the allegations involving the dog at this point, but investigations continue. “This issue has been out there in the public for almost a year [but] the allegations keep on coming,” said Al Jazeera’s James Bays, reporting from the United Nations in New York.

“People who were sent to protect the civilians are in fact becoming the perpetrators.”

A report published in late January condemned the UN for failing to respond to allegations of child abuse against peacekeepers in the Central African Republic.

The independent investigation said the UN’s handling of the case was “seriously flawed”, accusing it of not taking the required action after the alleged abuse of young boys by French soldiers became known.

AIDS-Free World said 98 girls in CAR reported being sexually abused between 2013 and 2015 by perpetrators who have left the country. It also said information on the alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl by a Congolese peacekeeper only three days ago in a hotel room has been turned over to the United Nations.

“We must face the fact that a number of troops sent to protect people instead acted with hearts of darkness,” Dujarric said.

The UN human rights chief, Zeid Ra’ad al-Hussein, in a statement called the allegations “sickening”. He said all three countries whose peacekeepers are accused – Burundi, Gabon and France – have been formally notified.

Governments must do more to stop abuse and hold their troops accountable, “otherwise this awful cycle of abuse will never end”, Hussein said

7 Reasons Why Nigerian Youths Do Not Go To Church

Fear driven presentations and demonstrations often force youths to go to church while under the shields of some dominating forces, mostly parental.

But not every young person will set going to church as a priority once he or she starts riding solo and under no real supervision.

We’ve heard some pretty strange statistics about church goers, most of which are female adults and least of which are the young and vibrant youths who are expected to keep close to God when they are still young and active.

All said, let’s see some 7 Reasons Why Nigerian Youths Do Not Go To Church.

1. They Believe Church Is Boring – Since it’s nothing like a party where ‘Lil Kesh’ would keep screaming a sinful phrase into their hearings, they don’t like it. They don’t fancy those left and right shifting dance steps vis-à-vis clapping in two’s at intervals.

But let it be known that churches were never meant for entertainments. Maybe now that churches are singing ‘Godwin’, they might consider that.

2. They Believe The Church Is A Waste Of Time – The thing is, every one knows the message, “Jesus brings salvation”, “Jesus Is coming soon” etc. So why bother going to church to hear some repetitions of old sayings? This is also one of the reason why youths stay back from church, to them, they know the message the church is relaying.

3. They Don’t Have Clothes – The church was never meant to be fashion runway. They just do not understand this. They are always hell-bent on looking fly to church, to impress who? Maybe that Lady smiling at the microphone as she leads the choir sing. So, as long as there is no new designer dress, no church.

4. They Believe The Church Wants Their Money – A couple of Naira that will go a long way in sorting Bread and Beans at that local restaurant is too big for them to drop for God.

They believe they will save some cash by staying back home instead of going to church. Even though there are truly some churches that talk more about offering and tithe than the kingdom of God, it is well.

5. They Believe Life Is Better Without Religion – This is an assertion but with that perspective, they tend to neglect church since its the “pillar” of religion. Going by the norms and commandments of the church by being a Christian are hectic for others. Some of them don’t care much about religion but a better relationship with God.

6. They Believe They Don’t Have Time – They believe some hours they will spend in church is better spent on cramming some aspects of that 201 course. Or probably spent tweeting and gathering twitter followers, or better still, to wash clothes, which is what they mostly do.

7. They Believe Worldly Engagements Are Sweeter – As long as there is power supply in the hood, larger percentage of the youths will shun church, you will hear sayings like “Devil already won today’s battle, but the war isn’t over yet”.

Especially if the Super Eagles have a Match on that day, the church will be unconsciously scanty.

These and more others are the reasons why Nigerian Youths Hardly Go To Church.

In what will come across as a most bizarre case of brutality, a couple have killed their own baby cutting out its private parts.

Police in Dedza, Malawi arrested the couple for allegedly chopping off private parts of their newly born baby whose body was later dumped in a pit latrine.

According to Malawi paper, M.S.T, the couple’s neighbour saw what they had done and alerted the police, who immediately arrested them.

The couple reportedly wanted to use the baby’s body parts for ritual in order to get rich and that was why they even got pregnant.
